Why "Elise's Elected Education"?
The Short, True Story
This program was named by a kid. On purpose.
Ms. Ingrid (the founder goes by "Ms. Ingrid" with students and families) is a homeschooling mom in Wyoming. Not a homeschooling mom in theory. The real kind, the kind who's sat at the kitchen table at 9pm re-explaining a math concept a fourth way because the third way didn't land either. She's raised and taught a child who learns differently, and she knows what it feels like when a system treats your kid like a problem to manage instead of a person to teach.
So she built the learning platform she couldn't find anywhere else: one where a lesson can be explained a fourth way, where a hard day doesn't wreck the week, and where a kid who's struggling has somewhere to turn besides shutting down. Our first student learned on it before any other family ever saw it. This program wasn't designed in a boardroom. It was road-tested at a kitchen table.
When it came time to name the program, Ms. Ingrid handed the decision to that first student, her daughter. Because a program built around what kids actually need should probably let a kid make the first call.
"Elected" isn't just a pretty word in the name. It means chosen. You're choosing this education for your child, on purpose, instead of settling for whatever's handed to you. That choice is the whole heart of homeschooling, and it's the heart of this program too.
What We Believe
- Every child can learn. Not every child learns the same way.
- Parents know their kids. We listen to parents first.
- Honesty beats salesmanship. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so.
- Families of every background are welcome here. Every single one.
We're a Wyoming program serving Wyoming families, and we're grateful for every family that trusts us with their kids' learning. That trust is not a small thing to us.
